Nutrition Counseling to Support Blood Sugar Management

Managing blood sugar often involves more than medication alone. Nutrition plays a key role in stabilizing glucose levels, reducing variability, and supporting long-term metabolic health.

I provide nutrition counseling for adults with diabetes, prediabetes, or insulin resistance who want clear guidance on how food choices and eating patterns affect blood sugar. Nutrition recommendations are designed to work in conjunction with your primary care provider’s or endocrinologist’s treatment plan, not in place of it.

  • This service may be a good fit if you:

    • Have Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, or insulin resistance

    • Experience frequent blood sugar highs, lows, or large swings

    • Are using diabetes medications and want nutrition guidance that complements them

    • Feel confused by conflicting advice or overly restrictive recommendations

    • Want a realistic plan you can maintain long term

  • Nutrition counseling may focus on:

    • Understanding how carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber affect blood sugar

    • Structuring meals to support steadier glucose levels

    • Timing meals and snacks in alignment with medication use

    • Improving consistency with eating patterns

    • Reducing large blood sugar fluctuations

    • Interpreting blood sugar trends (including CGM or finger-stick data, when available)

    • Supporting weight loss or metabolic health when appropriate

The goal is greater blood sugar stability, not perfection or extreme restriction.

  • Nutrition recommendations are provided alongside your existing medical treatment and are intended to support care from your primary care provider or endocrinologist.

    • I do not prescribe, adjust, or manage medications

    • Nutrition guidance is aligned with your current treatment plan

    • Coordination focuses on helping food choices work more effectively with prescribed therapies

If medication changes are needed, those decisions remain with your medical provider.

    • A clearer understanding of how food choices affect blood sugar

    • Increased confidence adjusting meals for real-life situations

    • Less confusion around conflicting nutrition advice

    • Fewer extreme highs and lows in blood sugar

    • Improved awareness of patterns rather than perfection
